Red fishing on the incoming high tide has been good using gold spoons south of the Homosassa River. Rocky shorelines with ribbon rock and jumping mullet are good starting points within Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge. Eppinger Rex 1/4 oz. gold spoons with red hackle are my favorite, they’re easy to use. Cast them parallel to the shoreline or across the points and get them moving before they hit the bottom. A slow steady retrieve it all you need to do, the flash of the spoon will do the rest. I believe red fish think its a dying or injured pinfish. A few trout have been caught along the pole line south of the channel on D.O.A. 5.5 glow jerk baits with a 1/8 oz. chartreuse jig head. On the rocks there has plenty of grunts with a few mangrove snapper and sea bass mixed in. Use fresh shrimp for bait. Look for incoming high tide in the afternoon this weekend.
