It is a screwed up world. “The Biggest Loser.” You win but they are calling you the biggest loser. Hey, I’m not against fat people, I am sticking up for them. I think it’s sad. I think there’s someone somewhere laughing their head off about it. I’m not. I don’t think it’s right. I have been told I sometimes take things too literally. I literally think these people are being insulted and don’t even know it.
You’re 36: And your parents cut off your cell phone. You are 36, why are your parents paying for your cell phone? Honest to God. It was on the news this week.
You live in America and you are having problems because you don’t speak English. That’s your problem. Resolve it: Go back where everyone speaks your language. Hey, maybe it’s just me. I don’t really care THAT much but I see today a lawsuit: Because the police were addressing someone who didn’t speak English. That’s the cop’s fault???
Politics: I cut ties with some people. I just could take it. Hatred Our president. . He is a lightning rod the same as I am. He brings out the worst in people, like I do.. But I was a good umpire. I am a good fishing guide. He is a good president. The attacks are just simply “opposition.” Nothing more, nothing less. The stuff he is criticized for is just “made up.” No proof. Just people running their mouths. I had to speak out against some of these people. Not sorry I did.
People aren’t based in reality. Because there are more important things to talk about. Trump is going to get four more years. Bernie Sanders against Trump? I feel bad for the Democratic party if that’s the best they can do. A gay guy from the Midwest. Joe Biden. Hillary on your ticket. It just doesn’t look good for them. Fine with me. I want the same guy in there. I want term limits to no longer exist and have that guy for fifteen more years. If Nancy Pelosi doesn’t have a limit, Donald Trump shouldn’t have a limit.
Hollywood, against the President. No. Brad Pitt: Why? I’ll never watch his movies again. It’s just a long and growing list. Idiot. Again: Why? Because you are a rich actor you think you can insert your politics into the mainstream???
It is funny. I was in a discussion with a guy and I dropped it on him “You probably thought Obama was a good president.” Interesting response. It was “No.” He defending the years but he said he did not like the man. Probably one of the more intelligent people I have known. And he and I believe in a lot of the same things. We probably want the same stuff. He is a Democrat. He wants to “give.” In comparison I want people to Earn. He knows it. He doesn’t dispute it. I don’t dispute his thoughts. I respect the guy. He comes from a Conservative family. They don’t get along because of it. His sister, also a friend of mine, walked into that one. I stuck up for her brother. I hammered her. I told her how much I respect the guy. It was a humbling. I wasn’t timid. I kind of let her have it. Kind of funny to be defending a guy on the other side. But to me: He’s not on the other side. He votes different. But he’s not unlike me in most ways.
Bernie not making me laugh as much. He’s just not a smart man. Cuba. His thoughts on Cuba are disturbing. My friend, born in Cuba, stopped by to see me yesterday. I asked him about it. He said “I heard. No way that guy gets any votes from people I know. Castro killed 60% of my family. He wants that in the US, he is not the guy to have as president.” I agreed. I was disturbed. Cuba was a very bad place under that guy. And Bernie is defending “Castro’s Cuba.” Not good.
Joe Biden invented baseball.
Most people are either immune to it or they don’t care: I have been deleting Facebook ads for nine days. Probably 70 per day. They just keep putting more up on my page My page. They don’t have a “***** off” option. I delete the ads. They don’t show up again but they throw another one at me. No one is getting any business from me. One company, I was working with them. I called and cancelled the order. The guy asked why. I told him: Unsolicited advertisement. He was on my side. He was sorry to lose my business but he liked my thinking process. They most be making money hand over first. After a couple of days without the clutter: Deleted like 150 more ads today. I’m annoyed. Most people are probably better at ignoring it. I’m not. I’m offended that I go on there and I’m looking at what they want me to look at. I think these companies are stupid: They are getting NO business from me. Wasted resources. If you have an ad on there, I won’t buy your product. Couple of companies that have actually “lost my business.” Sorry: You’re out.
I kind of “quit.” I am just tired of it. Better off paying only attention to myself, the things I see others into: It doesn’t inspire me.
Things others live for. I don’t really care. It has come up before. I don’t mind mentioning it again. So, you own a dog. Your dog is not better than I am. Sorry, but it isn’t. Your kids aren’t any better than that other lady’s kids. Sorry.
Four warning signs of dementia. Too late.
The life as a published author: Things haven’t really changed. I did run into a complete stranger, they got excited “Wait here” and they came back with a copy of one of my books to sign. It was interesting. They just heard about me from someone random. They were interested so they ordered my book off the internet. Very flattering.
Pete Rose. Got into it again. I said it in the last one. He made his own bed. This guy is a major baseball fan but a flaming liberal who says Pete didn’t do that much wrong. Well, hate to burst your bubble but if you are in baseball and you bet on it: You are fortunate the penalty isn’t that you get shot. I’d be fine if that was the penalty. It’s my game. I’m for protecting it. Let Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame and you open up all of baseball to the gamblers. It just can’t happen.
I don’t judge people on certain things. It is a shame what time can do to a person. It is the ugliness that isn’t outward that is bad. If you have both ugliness’s, well, I might take a poke at you.
And, after a bit of a break, I’m back to throwing stones.
To the governor: Still unimpressed with your email system. 53 emails in the last year. Most you have ever done is say “we forwarded it to the FWC.” That’s all fine but the FWC is part of the problem. I am a leader in the fishing world. I have the followers. We have real problems.
The FWC’s decision to extend closure of snook, redfish and trout in this region is accepted and embraced for the most part. But, the “reasoning” isn’t sound. The closure is good because there are problems. “Red Tide” as the reason: 97% of the area closed didn’t have Red Tide. They need to start working in closure of other species. Like cobia. Cobia are targeted hard. The fastest growing species if they were closed for six months every five years, cobia numbers would grow. Instead, they are whittled down pretty good all the time. Tower boats and power plants make them easy to find.
We have to make a better effort to take care of what we have. I have tried. I have continued even though I have been ignored. The people aren’t ignoring it. The following I have; I could be very crucial to the future of Florida fishing. If I fail? I will be selling out and leaving Florida. If this is not done right, I won’t stay. Some people I know are already gone. I could live out my days somewhere where the fishing is better. Somewhere that the fishery is taken care of. You are the top of the echelon. You have the power. What are you going to do? Ignore my emails some more? Or are you going to have someone there step up and we start to make some progress toward improving a busted system? These questions are asked daily.
Enforcement needs major improvement. I’m friends with those guys. I’m out there all the time but you never see them. How do you make people go by the rules if there is no oversight? I have only fished Texas waters 30 days in my lifetime. I was checked more in those 30 days than in my 26 years here. Not good. Change. We need change. Poachers, worse than the recreational offender. Get enforcement bumped up where poaching is addressed. Not checking the recreational guys, fine. But the poachers wiping out fisheries, that just cannot be allowed to continue. They need to be jailed and poaching needs to cease.
I’m here. Like I have offered all along: Open up a dialogue. Get me involved. If I’m involved, Scott Moore is involved. You should want Scott Moore to be integral.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil. If that was true, oil would be running through my veins. I wrote my 54th email days ago. Without any fanfare or response. So, your email account is a total flop. Your term as governor loops like it will follow. You make me sad that I voted for you. I can tell you: When it comes time, a good candidate I will make sure that millions of people vote for them. You don’t want to answer the bell and answer to the citizens? Your legacy. You don’t want to do the work? Is that what it is? Your legacy. I can tell you this: I’m not finished. You may think that ignoring me is a solution. It is not.
Are we that stupid a society where even the elected officials don’t act on the best information? Because: If you don’t listen to me, you are an idiot. Go ahead and be the idiot. You go that way, I’ll sell out and leave the state. Watch you and yours turn the Gulf of Mexico into a bacteria pit. I’ll be “out”. A great asset to the resource, if you push me to it, I’ll quit. I’ll go live out my years somewhere things are better. Someplace they take care of things. It’s your move.
I implore you: Represent the people. Do the right thing. Don’t work with me. Work with Scott Moore. Work with anyone who wants to do the right things. Things are better than they were but things are not where they should be. It is a broken system. I demonstrated it before. I have explained it to you again. What are you doing about it. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. You need to wake up and put people on it. If you don’t and that’s your legacy, I’ll write about it the rest of my life. My web site takes 6 to 8 million hits per month. There are so many things that don’t get incorporated. They changed trout regulations. Four fish to three. Chop an inch off the top of the slot. All of that is fine. Why not make that rule statewide?? It is still “regions”. It is not a species that needs regional management. Make one rule for the entire state.
Size regulations. 12 inches for flounder and sheepshead: A 12 inch flounder or sheepshead is a waste of a fish. A 12 inch mackerel?? Try 15 inches for mackerel. 13 minimum for flounder and sheepshead. Pompano 11 inches: Make pompano 12 or 13. Redfish: 18 inches? That’s the dumbest of all of them. A redfish isn’t worth keeping until it gets 21 inches. Killing an 18 inch redfish is a major waste of the resource. Again, with trout and redfish, closed for an extended period of time, gains can be made. The failing: Thousands of people didn’t get the word. For many people, there hasn’t been a closure. There needs to be a much better education of the public. Sending out an email doesn’t cut it. My database, I have noticed, people don’t read their email anymore. You have to use social media. I don’t see that being done by your agency At all. Why is that? In this day and age??
Speak up? Say nothing? Saying nothing isn’t going to happen. For a full year now, I have tried. For a full year, it has led to nothing. Bad system: You say you are forwarding these emails, now at 55, to the FWC. If that’s the case, why haven’t they contacted me? My contact with them is one regional director who does read what I write. He explains stuff away. He’s a nice guy and he takes his work seriously but you have to feel bad for the guy, being an excuse maker for your agency. The deficiencies are real. Florida is not up to speed when it comes to resource management. Put Scott Moore in charge of the FWC and watch Florida flourish. Seriously: It’s that simple. I would be willing to do it myself but with Scott you get experience and expertise. Passion and concern. You would have things working right. That would be a change from how things are now.
I keep trying. Unlike years ago: I keep failing. The whole world now is not open to discussion. The rule now is, don’t respond. It’s not good.
