The 2016 Captain Mel Classic.
Some notes, reminders and updates:
The weather forecast looks good.   Sunny with a high near 79.  That sounds good to me.   Still haven’t heard from some of you!
Raffle tickets will be $2 and available on both Friday night and Saturday before we start drawing numbers.
The raffle is heavily supplied by our tournament sponsors, who we like to support year-round.
Submitting photos by email:    You should get a confirmation from Mark that your photo was received.    If you are using a camera, to time stamp when your fish was caught (for tiebreakers) send a text message at the time your fish is released.     Tie-breakers are decided by the earliest fish submitted.    Someone using their camera would be at a disadvantage on the time stamp but sending the text message evens the playing field.

Friday night check-in, Fat Cat Tavern (Largo, East Bay just west of Belcher, south side of road)
5 to 8:30PM.  If you have trouble getting there during that time frame let me know and we can make othre arrangements.   At the check in you will get your bag of stuff and you will get your “assigned number”.    The number needs to be written on your measuring board.    You will have a chance to buy and use “a new mullet”.    The new Greenback Mullet will be available for $3 for a 15 count bag at the Friday night check-in.
The tournament boundaries:   Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties.
Tournament lures:  12 Fathom, Mirrolure and Captain Joe’s jigheads.   You may only use 12 Fathom plastic baits.  You may only use Mirrolure hard body baits.  You may only use Captain Joe jigheads.  You will get some of each.  You can use more of those products but only those specific baits.    Example:   Mirrolure Little Johns and Paul Browns are not tournament lures.
The fly division will be the same, capped at 20.   If you would like to tie for the event, we ask that you do 20 identical flies to go in the boxes.
The beneficiary will be Suncoast Animal League for the second straight year.    Reps from that organization will attend the event.   Mel worked with these people, as an avid animal lover and proponent, he would be pleased that our funds help this organization.
