Less trips in this part of the Bay this time of the year.    But there are some options.   I have heard of some redfish being caught but I have not attempted that myself.    There are fish up this way year round, I just spend more time in this part of the Bay in the cooler months.    The other “shift”, more pompano fishing.  This should be the time when that action gets very dependable.   Big drum at the bridges, pompano at the bridges and passes!

Black drum are back but will arrive in bigger numbers later this month.   Last year’s average size fish was around 50 pounds with many that were caught in the 70 pound category.  One, state record size.   The Silly Willy with a teaser is the way to go, same as with Pompano.   This is already a great option but they should pile up in one location any day now.   I make my own teaser, currently sitting on an inventory of 5000 of them.

Pompano action is not that great but should hit peak sometime this next few weeks.   It was a good start to the season but the action really hit the wall.      The Silly Willy/Teaser also your tool for catching this species.
