What’s happening in the upper stretches of Tampa Bay?

It has been warm.   Almost too warm really.   The action that should be up here this time of year, it isn’t happening.   We never got enough cold weather to drive more fish up the Bay.

It is a comfortable time of year even though there has been record heat a lot of the time.

Redfish have been a decent option.   Some are over 30 inches.  Trips to upper Tampa Bay we saw great numbers of redfish but had trouble getting them to eat.    My opinion, some cooler weather would help.

The big trout of most winters, simply didn’t happen in Upper Tampa Bay.  Middle Tampa Bay has been pretty good but they just never got into their normal wintertime spots.
