A nice breeze in the neighborhood means it’s windy on the water, and that’s exactly what we’ve been dealing with. The winds have not allowed the water to completely clear from the frontal patterns that pushed through weeks ago. This has kept bait and fish scattered in much of the bay. Many typical baitfish spots have been barren or inconsistent. Fish patterns that typically produce fast action have not been in place. Staying on the move and mixing it up until feeding fish are located has been necessary. Some of my most consistent catches have come from snook, which I’ve found in protected areas with clean water. The farther up the bay I’ve worked, the better the fishing has been.
